MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio – Fat Head BreweryThe 2022 beer release schedule includes five new offerings.
Alpha Ambush IPA and St. Fatty’s Irish-style Red Ale will be released earlier this year, and the brewery’s first strain pack will also launch in Q1. It will feature a range of all-Indian Pale Ale including three favorites: Head Hunter IPA, Groovy Juice Hazy IPA and Sunshine Daydream Session IPA plus Freddy, a new year-round wet hop IPA.
People at the brewery say it is believed that Fat Head’s will be the first brewery in the country to offer hoppy beer all year round. A representative says Fat Head used instant fast freeze technology in the production of beer. In partnership with Yakima Chief Ranches of Washington State, the process involves whole hop leaves being frozen and used throughout the year. Fat Head’s took part in testing the tech this year, when it released Wet-Hopped Head Hunter in April.
Wet hop beers use hops that have been recently harvested and have not been dried. Dry-hopped beers indicate beers that have hops added late in the brewing process to improve aroma.
“I think this pack is going to make hop lovers very happy and I couldn’t be more excited to put a wet hop in it all year round – it hasn’t been done before and it should really grab some attention. Brewery Matt Cole said in a statement, adding that he has long wanted to produce an IPA variety pack throughout the year.
