You can sample blockbusters and burgers this summer as the outdoor film and street food festival returns to Norwich for 2021.
The event will take place at Eaton Park from Thursday August 26 to Sunday August 29 and 10 films will be screened on the bank holiday weekend.
Organizers Pop Up Pictures and Ideal Events kicked off the Norwich Outdoor Film and Food Festival at the Norfolk Showground last August, where they also held drive-in cinema events throughout the year.
On Thursday evenings at Eaton Park, Labyrinth and The Lost Boys will be presented and on Friday throughout the day it will be Kids Club with remakes of The Jungle Book and The Lion King in double bill two for one.
All films will be shown on a large LED screen and a free child ticket (ages 5 to 15 and upon presentation of a certificate) is available with each paying adult, children under four being free.
Friday night is Top Gun and The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Saturday night is another double show with Mamma Mia! and Dirty Dancing, which is part of the Brunch Club with gin, prosecco and Pimm’s.
The last two Saturday night movies are The Greatest Showman and Grease.
Danny Banthorpe, 47, who runs Pop Up Pictures with Andrew Bunn, said: âIt was nice to come out last year and keep the brand alive and it’s our business to entertain.
âWe have been touring the Norwich Parks over the years and thought Eaton Park had a good catchment area and we have other festivals in Colchester, Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and Oulton Broad.
“Even if we don’t have to, we’ll still be lining up safely, seats out of the way, and hand sanitizer because people will always appreciate it.”
There will be six to eight street vendors each day, which will include Thai dishes from Phat Khao, Elsie’s Pizza, and Natural Born Grillers.
On Sundays during the day there will be live music for the kids with Bop at Eaton Park, featuring Kidz Pop Party and Pop Divas Live! by Joe Ringer, with hits from Little Mix, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa and Taylor Swift.
In the evening it will be a celebration of the 80s with Joe Ringer’s eight-piece band bringing 80s Movies Live, the Avi80rs acoustic trio, the band Back To The 80s and DJ Gary Sulter.
