Celebrity chef Gizzi Erskine and Libertines star Carl Barat will jointly open a seaside cafe and concert hall in Margate.
ove Cafe will also be run by Cruel Hearts Club musician Edie Langley and Music Director Ronnie Traynor.
The venue will serve “seaside classics” with a “modern and fun” twist, according to a statement.
Erskine said: “The Great British Sandwich has been overlooked and there is something magnificent about recreating something so simple, made with flavor, imagination and humor.
“Really, Love Cafe’s offering is based on the idea of a steroid sandwich.
“We want Love Cafe to take classic Margate coffee and evolve it to where it needs to be in 2021.”
Barat said he was “finally fulfilling a drunken promise to create the best bar and bistro in the world.”
He added: “For the music, ideas and inspiration to flourish and the drinks to flow, it will take an expert chef, a lover, an old friend, elbow grease, olive oil. midnight, patience and unfathomable love. “
The Libertines previously sponsored Margate FC football shirts and the group also owns a studio and hotel in the town of Kent called The Albion Rooms.
