(MENAFN) According to the announcement of the President of the Iran-Syria Joint Chamber of Commerce, the value of Iran’s exports to Syria has jumped 90% in the first three quarters of the current Iranian calendar year (21 March-21 December 2021), compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
Keyvan Kashefi said that Iran exported $160 million worth of goods to Syria during the mentioned period of this year, while this figure rose to $84 million during the parallel period of last year.
The official said that most of the exported products were associated with mechanical industries (steam turbine parts and divisions), food as well as pharmaceutical industries.
Stating that the country exported $35 billion worth of goods to various countries during the nine-month period of this year, Kashefi said that during this period, Syria was among the 21 countries targeted by Iranian exports. .
