MALAGA’s new drive-in cinema will screen the film Grease, when it opens on October 8

As confirmed today, Monday September 27, by Tamara Istambul and Cristina Holder, of Autocine Madrid RACE, the promoters of the new Autocine Malaga Metrovacesa, the doors will finally open on October 8. The first film to be screened will be the classic, Grease.

Located in the industrial area of ​​Guadalhorce in the capital of Malaga, this new facility will be a permanent feature, open throughout the year, making it the first drive-in cinema of its kind in Andalusia.

Built on 16,000m² of land, to resemble 1950s-style American drive-ins, Autocine Malaga Metrovacesa has a capacity of 3,200 people, and has the largest cinema screen in Europe at 250m², with parking for 250 vehicles, as well as 250 hammocks (in spring, summer and autumn), as well as a children’s play area.

On October 7, a special opening event will take place, attended by authorities and personalities from the cultural sector in Malaga.

In addition to the screening of classic films, Malaga’s new drive-in facility will feature live concerts, with a rockabilly show scheduled during opening week, as well as plans to host weddings at Elvis Las Vegas.

Daytime entertainment for children will be organized from 12 noon and catering will be available in a 3000 m² gastronomic space, equipped with food trucks and an American dinner, where participants will be able to taste different menus.

According to the organizers, there will also be events on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, called Rita’s Brunch, where you can enjoy the largest terrace in Malaga, accompanied by music from the most relevant DJs, as well as gastronomic demonstrations.
