Marcus King today announced the release of “Lie Lie Lie”, the latest single from his forthcoming solo album, new blood. The track premiered today with FLOOD Magazine. Mixed rock percussion, wild solos and fuzzy psychedelic guitar riffs combine in a towering sound hell. At the heart of the fire is the voice of King, who shares a revelation. “‘Lie Lie Lie’ for me captures the spirit of this record.” The king shared. “You can feel how natural the vibe was in the studio. This track showcases the energy of each player, it highlights the production and SOUND of Easy Eye Sound. After two and a half minutes , the band locks into a groove that becomes an aural representation of why I do what I do! I live for this feeling!
Accompanying the song’s release, King released a live video, created at Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound Studio, it features acclaimed musicians including Chris St. Hilaire on drums and Nick Movshon on bass. Watch it HERE.
King’s stories of excess, salvation, breakup and addiction are inspired by difficult and personal times. Despite difficult personal circumstances, King did his most accomplished job to date. King has been an outlier from the very beginning. A fourth-generation musician from Greenville, SC, who learned the guitar at the age of 3 with his blues rock musician father, Marvin King. He went through difficult school years to quickly become one of the most promising young artists of our time. He followed his resounding success with The Marcus King Band, with his 2020 Auerbach-produced debut solo album, El Dorado. It earned a GRAMMY® Award nomination for “Best Americana Album” and critical praise from the New York Times on the weekend edition of NPR. . He’s opened for Chris Stapleton, Greta Van Fleet and Nathaniel Rateliff and has graced billings for Stagecoach, Fuji Rock, Rock Werchter and more. He also recently released his own custom Gibson guitar and signature Orange guitar amplifier, the MK Ultra, which sold out before it even hit stores.
King recently announced a massive US tour, with dates HERE through September and October 2022, supporting the release of his upcoming solo album, Young Blood. He will bring his stadium-sized sound to acclaimed venues across the United States, including two nights at venues such as New York’s Beacon Theater and Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.
