None other than Lauren Laverne has been chosen to sit on the couch from 7pm and bring you through some of the hottest stories from across the UK and interview some of showbiz’s biggest star guests.

She will be on the show alongside former professional footballer Jermaine Jenas, where they are expected to chat with Chef Gino D’Acampo and Dame Eileen Atkins.

Laverne was born on April 28, 1978 in Sunderland, in the north-east of England. She is 43 years old.
Prior to her music and audiovisual career, she obtained A grades in her A-levels at City of Sunderland College, where she studied English, History and Sociology.
After graduation, Laverne became a founding member of the Kenickie group, formed in 1994. The name comes from the hugely popular film, Grease.
Laverne was part of the group alongside his brother, Pete Gofton, and two classmates, Anne Marie Nixon and Emma Jackson. The group released several singles and two studio albums.
They went their separate ways four years after their formation, with fans able to attend their last concert at the London Astoria on Charing Cross Road in the capital in October 1998.
But Laverne never spent much time away from the spotlight as her first experience of showing on television came from the hit ’90s program, The Alphabet Show, which she hosted alongside the comedian and writer Chris Addison.
After that, she briefly featured CD: UK on ITV, replacing outgoing host Cat Deeley, and also hosted the Culture Show, which was released on BBC Two.

She then hosted the BBC Radio 6 Breakfast Show some time later before presenting BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs.
