Ringo Starr announces Coffee-Table photo book for charity

Ringo Starr will release a new hardcover tabletop book on February 14. Lifted – Fab Images and Memories in My Life With the Beatles From Across the Universe, which benefits the Lotus Foundation charity, will be available exclusively online at Julien’s Auctions.

“I am not write this book as a Beatles historian, ”the drummer said in a statement. “I’m writing this book as a Beatles historian – and there are only two or three of us who can do it.

Detailing how the project got started, Starr noted that he “hasn’t kept” all of the photos that appear in the book.

“These fantastic images have come back to me over the past few years from here, elsewhere and everywhere – online and offline – and in a way helped me to reexamine my life with the Fab Four with a fresh outlook,” said he explained. photos from this book that I spotted on my phone and on my computer, and I “picked them up” because they brought back so many fabulous memories. Over the past few years, I’ve been collecting those Beatles photos that I sometimes barely remember.

Eventually, he added, he started to think “how awesome it would be” to combine these photos, along with other personal favorites, in book form. He also decided to include his own thoughts, telling “my true stories they inspire of what the four of us – John, Paul, George and Ringo – went through back then”.

Commenting further on the book, Starr said he enjoys revisiting the Beatles era in photographic form.

“When people ask me about The Beatles, I often tell them, ‘You better ask Paul, ‘because somehow he seems to remember all, “he said.” But with big plans like To recover, seeing so many of these incredible images of The Beatles really reminded me of those days, as well as all the love and friendship the four of us shared back then. So it’s a book full of Beatles pictures that a lot of people haven’t seen and stories that I share with a little help from my longtime writer friend David Wild. We’ve all been through a pretty tough time for a lot of people who’ve been locked up, and this book really lifted my spirits and brought me back to where I once belonged in a whole new way. And at the end, it is why this new book is called Survey. The Beatles changed my life forever. It is therefore about recovering and giving back.

Survey supports the Lotus Foundation, which aims to “fund, support, participate and promote charitable projects aimed at advancing social welfare in various fields including, but not limited to: drug addiction, cerebral palsy, brain tumors, cancer, battered women and their children, homelessness and animals in need.

The “collector’s edition” of the book will be available for $ 59. Signature edition copies, signed by Starr, will cost $ 495 each and are limited to 500. Pre-order information and other details are available on the Julien’s Auction website.
